down to the wire.....

it's getting down to the wire on the carcinoid cancer Zebra House Silent Auction... and i can hardly believe it. I've been working on this for over a year, and i know that the jewelry has to be in New Orleans by the 20th of September but it just doesn't seem real to me yet. I know it is.

i have been finishing work like crazy. in the past year i have started many different projects and left the finishing touches for last. all clasps are now being added, the wire chains i crocheted are ready for charms, i did 10 charm bracelets because Dr. Woltering had some adorable pink zebras made for our mascot and they will look darling on them.

Mavis Smith donated 2 figures, one Asian Lady in pink and black komono, which i first crocheted a strand of 6mm freshwater pearls with ss wire, the top shows the strip of silver wire, the beads hang down. I did one in lap journal like it...and then made a strand of a mix pink and clear assorted types of beads entwine around the pearls, with the focal on the side, then up to the other side. only problem it is a tad heavy.

the second is a fairy, done in teal and peach, with zebra roses down her dress, i used peach optical 4mm beads same crochet as pearls, then same idea, cause actually i did hers first but didn't think about the 4mm being smaller than 6mm and that could be the different weight issue. i hope i don't remake it.

i hope to put pics up when mandy gets over here with my camera...
Sharon Peters also donated beads, pink and black, with heart. Marilee did a beautiful necklace for me. there have been such outstanding beautiful pieces made. Jen did a graduated color fall of beads and i know the pic is on my puter i can n't find it. and i hate to ask again, but i will...she also did 2 zebras

some people are sending directly into the offices which is great, remember to put the value of the piece, your name and address so you can get a letter for your taxes.as well as the final auction price it went for. i am really curious about mine.

i did a stringing necklace, my first actually, leah fairbanks did a focal in blac/grey background with pink flowers. i mixed with a rasberry pink, and used wedding cake beads in black to break it up. there are two elongated black wc beads. and earrings.

then some wide bracelets i cro'd and a couple 1"wide necklaces, one in black, couple more pearl necklaces, one i have to redo, stringing went bad...

and wire wrap faceted stones most are ametrine rectangles, cause i love working on rectangles. i do a 3 corner wrap asometric...in pink and clear/ yellow and clear/ blue and green/ purple and yellow/purple and white and some pretty pink topaz.

and then i will be done. and here is a necklace jen did... i want to bid on this

i will find it but it's 7am and i still havent been asleep. well i took a nap last nite for a couple hours, and when i do that, i never sleep at night i told jon, don't let me sleep. he says, but you needed it. maybe so, but i miss it at nite. course i do get lots done..............

I can't wait to see what you do with the zebras, Pat! The necklace is from a different Jen, though.
